Legal & Practical Tips

25 km/h E-Choppers: usually classified as mopeds. An insurance plate is required, and a helmet is mandatory. Depending on age, a moped license is sufficient.
45 km/h E-Scooters/E-Choppers: generally count as light motorcycles (Class AM). An insurance plate, helmet, and the usual registration requirements are necessary.
Up to approx. 125 km/h (and more): depending on power, A1 (up to 11 kW), A2 (up to 35 kW), or A (over 35 kW) is required. Those who already have a Class B car driving license can also ride 125cc bikes up to 11 kW with the B196 extension – this only applies in Germany.

Please note: classifications may vary depending on the model (L-classes), equipment, and documents. The decisive factors are law/national law and the papers (e.g., EU-COC). Always check local regulations before riding.
