Fully charge battery before first ride
This is the most important step and the most common mistake: Never start riding with an empty or only partially charged battery. The first full charge calibrates the BMS (Battery Management System) and ensures maximum lifespan.
Always fully charge before the first ride. Even if the battery arrives partially charged, a complete initial charge is mandatory. Charging time depends on the model: 4–8 hours with a standard charger, 2–4 hours with a fast charger.
Charge at room temperature (15–25 °C). Not in direct sunlight, not in freezing conditions.
Only unplug the charger from the socket when the charging indicator shows 100%.
Only use the original charger provided. Third-party chargers can damage the battery.
Assembly – varies by model
Most Star-Biker vehicles are delivered largely pre-assembled. Depending on the model, you may only need to install mirrors and license plate holder – or even the front wheel. All tools are included.
Front wheel pre-assembled
Chopper 6.0s, Cruiser 3.0s, City Max RS PRO, Cabin Scooter, Trike M2. Only mirrors and license plate holder need to be installed.
Front wheel separate
Bobber M8S Custom, Chopper M1P, Chopper M1PS Knight. Insert front wheel, tighten axle, check brake. Instructions in the video.
Tighten all screws with the provided tool – retighten after 50 km.
Operate the brake lever several times before the first ride to ensure the brake engages.
Insurance and License Plate
Before you can hit the road, depending on the country and speed class, you need insurance and a license plate. All necessary documents (COC, if applicable Form 13.20A) are supplied with your vehicle.
25 km/h
DE/AT: Insurance plate. CH: Nothing required (from 16 years). No official registration, no TÜV.
45 km/h
DE: Insurance plate. AT: Moped plate. CH: Yellow license plate via Cantonal Road Traffic Office.
85–125 km/h
DE: Regular vehicle registration. AT: Registration + §57a. CH: White license plate via Cantonal Road Traffic Office.
Detailed Instructions
We have created a separate step-by-step guide for each country.
First Ride – the first 100 kilometers
Your vehicle is assembled, charged, and insured. Now for the first kilometers – ideally calmly and attentively, so you can get to know your vehicle.
Drive gently for the first 50 km. Brake pads and tires need a break-in period. Avoid hard braking and abrupt acceleration.
After 50 km: Retighten screws. Especially front axle, mirrors, and handlebars. This is normal – vibrations can slightly loosen new connections.
Wear a helmet. Recommended for all speed classes, mandatory from 45 km/h in all countries.
Care and Maintenance
Proper care ensures longevity and safety. Plan regular checks – most only take a few minutes.
Cleaning
Only with water and a soft cloth. No high-pressure cleaner – sensitive electronics can be damaged. No abrasive cleaners.
Battery Care
Store at room temperature. Do not let discharge below 20%. Recharge every 4 weeks, even in winter. Avoid moisture.
After 500 km
Have brakes checked by a specialist. Check plug connections for corrosion, use contact spray if necessary.
Annually
Have brake fluid, wear parts, and tire pressure checked. Ideally, at a Star-Biker service partner.

The most common causes: 1) Battery not inserted or not switched on – check the main switch on the battery. 2) Side stand extended – most models have a side stand lockout. 3) Brake lever not pulled when starting. 4) Battery empty – fully charge it. If the problem persists, contact our team.
Everything necessary is included: Allen key set, spanner, and possibly a Phillips screwdriver. Your own tools are not required, but can facilitate assembly for larger screws.
For models with pre-assembled front wheel (e.g., Chopper 6.0s): approx. 15–20 minutes (mirrors, license plate holder). For models with separate front wheel (e.g., Bobber M8S, M1P, M1PS): approx. 30–45 minutes. Our assembly tutorial video guides you step-by-step through the setup.
