85 km/h E-Chopper — Full Motorcycle Feel, Full Road Legalization

The 85 km/h class is the most powerful category in the Star-Biker range — with an official license plate, regular road registration, and a true motorcycle feel. Can be ridden with a driving license A1, A2, A, or the B196 extension — if you have a car driving license with B196, you are allowed to ride all 85 km/h models without getting a separate motorcycle license.

All vehicles come with a COC document and are delivered by freight forwarder from €29 directly to you. 24 months warranty on frame and motor — immediately road legal.

Driving License & B196 Extension

Which driving license — and what is B196?

Class A1 (from 16 years): Allows all motorcycles up to 125 cc and 11 kW — ideal for 85 km/h models. For holders of Class B, A1 can be acquired through a short training course.

B196 Extension: If you have held a Class B car driving license for at least 5 years and are at least 21 years old, you can acquire the B196 extension with a short training course (no exam) — and thus legally ride all 85 km/h motorcycles and e-choppers. Costs approx. €200–400 at a driving school.

Class A2 and A: Both also allow all 85 km/h vehicles — and additionally more powerful motorcycles. If you already have A2 or A, you are immediately ready to ride.

E-Choppers & E-Scooters 85–95 km/h — Star-Biker & Horwin

In addition, the Horwin EK3 (95 km/h) and Horwin SK3 (90 km/h) as e-scooters with a compact design and high everyday usability.

Registration & License Plate

Official License Plate — This is how registration works

85 km/h vehicles are registered like regular motorcycles: COC document (included) to the vehicle registration office, take out liability insurance, apply for an official license plate. The effort is a one-time process and usually completed in a single appointment.

Unlike 45 km/h vehicles, 85 km/h models are subject to mandatory general inspection (TÜV every 2 years) and vehicle tax. In return, they are permitted on motorways and expressways and offer significantly more range and dynamics for interurban journeys.
