The M8S Custom — Bobber Design Meets Electric Drive
The Star-Biker Bobber M8S Custom (also known as Mangosteen M8S) is the e-chopper with the strongest character in the Star-Biker range. Low-slung chassis, wide tires, exposed engine, custom rear fender — a silhouette immediately recognizable. Available in 45 km/h (Samsung 45Ah/60V, up to 150 km) and 85 km/h (Samsung 35Ah/72V, 5000W, up to 120 km).
Both variants share the same frame, optics, and basic equipment — the difference lies in motor power, battery, and thus the driver's license required. COC document and 24 months warranty included.
Driver's License & Registration
45 km/h with a car driver's license — 85 km/h with A1 or B196
45 km/h: Car driver's license class B or class AM — no motorcycle course, no additional examination. Insurance plate from approx. €50/year, no MOT, no vehicle tax. COC document included.
85 km/h: Class A1, A2, A or B196 extension required. Official license plate, regular registration at the vehicle registration office, MOT every 2 years. Permitted on all roads except highways — more range and dynamics for interurban routes.

The 45 km/h version covers 30–80 km daily without recharging, with up to 150 km range — ideal for commuting and city driving. The 85 km/h version offers more reserves on country roads and is suitable for longer distances. Both versions are approved on all roads except highways.
The removable battery makes charging possible at any 230V household socket — no charging station needed. The low seating position (680 mm), the wide ergonomic seat and the low-slung chassis provide a true cruiser feeling even on longer tours.

The 45 km/h version is hardware-limited to 45 km/h ex works. A software unlock for road use at 85 km/h is not directly provided — the 85 km/h version is supplied as a separate model with a different battery (72V) and motor. Star-Biker offers both versions directly in the shop.
