Vehicles up to 25 km/h are the most accessible class of electric mobility in Germany. A moped license from 15 years of age and an insurance plate are completely sufficient — no MOT, no vehicle tax, no official registration. If you were born before April 1, 1965, you can even drive completely without a license.

What do you really need — and what don't you?
Moped driving license: Mandatory from 15 years of age if you were born after April 1, 1965. Short test at a driving school — no complex driving license, no driving course. If you already have another driving license, you do not need a separate moped driving license.
Insurance license plate: Apply annually to your vehicle insurance — costs approx. €50–80 per year. No visit to the registration office, no official approval. The license plate will be sent directly to your home.
No MOT, no vehicle tax: In contrast to 45 km/h vehicles, the main inspection is completely omitted. Operating costs are therefore significantly lower than with any other motorized vehicle.

25 km/h in everyday life — where can you ride?
25 km/h vehicles are allowed on all roads except motorways and expressways — including rural roads. In practice, they are ideal for urban routes up to 30 km, shopping trips, short commutes and leisure rides in city traffic.
Ranges of 60 to 160 km per charge easily cover daily 20–40 km. The batteries in all Star-Biker models are removable — charge at a household socket at home or at work, no charging station needed. Charging time approx. 4–6 hours.
